Diet recommendations for Lyme Disease

Forbidden products:

  • All junk food like fast food, instant soups and other meals (for example Chinese soups), ready meals in jars, and ready buy in shop pancakes, dishes.
  • Jams and jellies, ketchup, mustard, fruit sweetened yoghurts and milk desserts
  • All sweets except dark chocolate at least 80% cocoa (1-2 cubes)
  • Sugar, honey, agave syrup, maple syrup,
  • Rice waffles (high IG and a lot of carbs), corn waffles, chips, corn chips,
  • Fruit juices, soda pops, sweetened drinks, alcohol
  • Very sweet fruits: banana, grapes, dried fruits, candied fruit, raisins, dates, canned fruits


Recommended products:

  • Vegetables: courgette, onion, spring onion, cabbage, fermented cabbage, kimchee, tomatoes, paprika, cucumbers, fermented cucumbers, dill, parsley, parsley leaves, pumpkin, rutabaga, courgette (zucchini), aubergine, string beans, broccoli, cauliflower, artichoke, asparagus, lettuce, Chinese cabbage, spinach, kale, rucola – everything green and leafy
  • Champignon mushrooms
  • Less sweet fruits (fresh and frozen): strawberries, blueberries, kiwi, raspberries (any kind of berries), cherries, apples, lime, lemon,
  • Nuts and seeds: Walnuts, cashew, sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds, peanuts (High Quality) macadamia, sesame, tahini, peanut butter HQ, pecan, pistachios, almonds, coconut
  • Eggs
  • Vegan milks: coconut-, rice-, oat-, almond-, millet-milks
  • Diary (if you don’t have intolerance/allergy/dermatological problems): plain yoghurt, Greek yoghurt, kefir, milk, Mozzarella, Feta, HQ cheese, quark, mascarpone, crème fraiche
  • Meat and fish: all types of HQ meat preferably white meat (cause it’s easier to digest when you take antibiotics) chicken, turkey, salmon, herring, cod, seafood, veal
  • Butter, ghee, olive oil extra virgin, avocado oil, canola oil, flaxseed oil, MCT coconut oil, pumpkin seeds oil, walnuts oil all cold pressed unrefined


Products recommended in moderate amount:

  • Whole grain bread and buns, with seeds
  • Oats, Millet, buckwheat, Brown rice, Quinoa,
  • Raw carrot and beetroot
